Sustainability
Our Values
Being passionate about the Earth, we are focused on making Unawaken as sustainable as possible and are always looking for ways to improve our processes and leave a lighter footprint.
In a fast paced world filled with mass production and short-life products that end up in landfill, Unawaken is focused on meaningful creation with as little wastage as possible. This means making your jewellery to your specifications when you order it, resulting in carefully made, high quality pieces that will last generations.
With no compromise on quality, out metals are almost entirely recycled and sourced as sustainably as possible; Metal is purchased through a local family owned business focused on sustainably and ethically sourcing its metal, castings are made from recycled and refined metals and all offcuts and filings are melted down and reused.
Packaging
We use both recyclable courier bags (made from 100% ocean bound plastic) and fully compostable courier bags from The Better Packaging Co. We just ask that you remove the shipping labels/courier windows before home composting.
Our protective boxes are made from environmentally friendly cardboard and are 100% recyclable. All packages are wrapped with Geami Ecowrap from r3pack, an environmentally friendly protective wrap that is naturally biodegradable, compostable and recyclable. It also sticks to itself, meaning no wasteful packing tape!
International orders are sent via DHL's GoGreen carbon neutral service.
Donations
We’re working with One Tree Planted, donating at least one tree with every purchase from the Botanical collection.
80,000 acres of forests disappear from the planet every single day.
Trees help clean the air, filter the water we drink, improve our overall health, absorb harmful carbon from the atmosphere and provide habitat to over 80% of the world's terrestrial biodiversity.
One Tree Planted have planted over 40 million trees in more than 43 countries since 2014 and their numbers increase every year. With our donations we get to choose where in the world our trees are planted and we can follow up on the results.
